Cortijada Los Gázquez has a close relationship with a local natural history guide, Jesus. aka Indalo de Oz. Jesus is happy to take guests here at the cortijo for one or two day wildlife excursions around Almeria. It's a valuable excursion too giving you a deep insight into Almeria it's wildlife and it's people.

Dear Simon and Donna,
Just a few lines to say thanks so much for being such attentive, warm and fun hosts. I arrived in your high up valley not knowing quite what to expect but really wanting to get into painting again after years away from it. It was great to explore watercolours as the medium to tackle the sloping caminos with. Also a practical choice as I know I can now work well for brief snatches of time out in the landscape here. I really appreciate all your encouragment. I’ll carry it with me.
There is a great spirit of creativity and bonhomie at your house especially when it comes to meal times!! I really enjoyed the company of your invited artists and other guests. It all made for some very lively discussions and sharing of ideas. This all went down very well with those lovely tasty meals provided by Donna.
I’m very tempted to leave out all the punctuation Simon (except it may not look very good since I’m definitely not Peter Carey..) I could keep waxing on… a very memorable visit, thanks again. O
